The Background
Phoenix was founded by Chad Ridley, who spent more than 15 years in business development and commercial sales before making the leap into running his own operation. Working with companies including Fisher & Paykel and Harvey Norman, Chad built his career alongside high-end developers, architects, builders, and commercial clients across Australia. Throughout that time, one thing consistently stood out — the importance of how people are treated. Building trust, delivering on promises and making customers feel genuinely valued became the foundation of how he approached business. When Chad turned that thinking toward carpet and upholstery cleaning, he saw an industry where the service experience was often an afterthought — and an opportunity to do it differently.
The Leap
The business started the way many good ones do — with a leap of faith and a beat-up 1998 Toyota Hiace already fitted out with cleaning equipment. Chad left his corporate career behind, committed fully to building something of his own, and grew Phoenix from a one-man operation into a trusted local business servicing homes and properties throughout the Hunter Valley Region. From carpet steam cleaning and upholstery restoration to tile and grout, flea treatment and commercial cleans, the scope of what Phoenix offers has grown steadily — but the standard behind every job has stayed the same. The name came from the Ridley family dog, but it quickly became something bigger — a brand built around reliability, honest communication, and results that customers can see and feel the moment the job is done.
